Big Bash League

The biggest-ever KFC BBL season will feature 43 games in 47 days as Cricket Australia today announced a bumper fixture for the seventh edition of the Twenty20 competition.

BBL|07 features eight additional regular season matches compared with last summer as the action heads to new venues around the country.

Hobart Hurricanes have already announced that they'll be taking their fifth home game to UTAS Stadium in Launceston, while three clubs will announce details around the venues for their additional games in due course.

The season will begin with a bang on 19 December when the Sydney Thunder host the Sydney Sixers in a Sydney Smash blockbuster at Spotless Stadium, while the final is locked in for 4 February.

Adelaide Strikers

The Strikers had a mediocre season, coming in sixth.

They lost some key players such as Kane Richardson and Ben Dunk, but made some noteworthy additions including Colin Ingram and Rashid Khan.

Adelaide Strikers squad
Wes Agar, Alex Carey, Jono Dean, Travis Head (c), Colin Ingram (South Africa), Ben Laughlin, Jake Lehmann, Rashid Khan (Afghanistan), Michael Neser, Liam O’Connor, Peter Siddle, Billy Stanlake, Jake Weatherald, Jonathan Wells.

Brisbane Heat

The Brisbane Heat finished second in the league but were bounced in the semifinals.

They will be facing an uphill battle to start the season as Chris Lynn will be sidelined after shoulder surgery. The Heat did add exciting Pakistan leg-spinner Shadab Khan and are expecting big things out of him.

Brisbane Heat squad
Max Bryant, Joe Burns, Ben Cutting, Brendan Doggett, Jason Floros, Cameron Gannon, Sam Heazlett, Shadab Khan (Pakistan), Marnus Labuschagne, Josh Lalor, Chris Lynn, Brendon McCullum (c, New Zealand), Jimmy Peirson, Matt Renshaw, Alex Ross, Mitchell Swepson, Mark Steketee, Cameron Valente.

Hobart Hurricanes

The Hurricanes put on a weak showing in the 2016-17 season, finishing seventh. It means they have missed the finals three seasons in a row.

They made some major changes for the upcoming season, including bringing in new coach Gary Kirsten and seeing the loss of Stuart Broad (England), Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka), Shaun Tait (retired), and Jonathan Wells (Strikers).

Hobart Hurricanes squad
George Bailey (c), Jofra Archer (West Indies), James Bazley, Cameron Boyce, Dan Christian, Hamish Kingston, Ben McDermott, Simon Milenko, Tymal Mills (England), David Moody, Tim Paine, Jake Reed, Sam Rainbird, Tom Rogers, Clive Rose, D’Arcy Short, Matthew Wade.

Melbourne Renegades

The ‘little brother’ team to the Stars, the Melbourne Renegades haven’t had a lot of success so far and that continued last year. They finished in fifth, missing the finals for the fourth straight time. The men in red have only made the semi-finals once, way back in 2012-2013.

They’ve made nice additions in Kane Richardson and Jack Wildermuth to try to counteract the losses of Peter Siddle (Sixers) and James Pattinson (injury).

Melbourne Renegades squad
Aaron Finch (c), Dwayne Bravo (West Indies), Tom Cooper, Marcus Harris, Brad Hodge, Brad Hogg, Jon Holland, Tim Ludeman, Joe Mennie, Mohammad Nabi (Afghanistan), James Pattinson, Kieron Pollard (West Indies – replacement), Kane Richardson, Matt Short, Will Sutherland (rookie), Chris Tremain, Guy Walker, Beau Webster, Cameron White, Jack Wildermuth.

Melbourne Stars

Run by Eddie McGuire and known for signing big-name players, the Melbourne Stars are the glamour side in Melbourne. They have never missed the finals, but have been known to fall short, never winning the competition and crashing out in the semi-finals on five occasions, including last year.

They already have a full squad and landed a huge addition in Ben Dunk for the upcoming season.

Melbourne Stars squad
Michael Beer, Scott Boland, Jackson Coleman, Ben Dunk, James Faulkner, Seb Gotch, Evan Gulbis, Peter Handscomb, Sam Harper, John Hastings (c), Ben Hilfenhaus, Glenn Maxwell, Kevin Pietersen (England), Rob Quiney, Marcus Stoinis, Dan Worrall, Luke Wright (England), Adam Zampa.

Perth Scorchers

The most successful club in the history of the Big Bash, the Scorchers have never missed the semi-finals, and only missed one final. After finishing as runners-up to the Sydney Sixers and Brisbane Heat in the first two seasons, they won two straight, then missed their first final in 2015-16.

They were back to their best last year though, winning the final against the Sixers.

Their squad remains stable – all that’s left is to see who the international imports will be.

Perth Scorchers squad
Ashton Agar, Cameron Bancroft, Jason Behrendorff, Hilton Cartwright, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Cameron Green, Josh Inglis, Mitchell Johnson, Michael Klinger, Mitch Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Joel Paris, Jhye Richardson, Ashton Turner, Andrew Tye, Adam Voges (c), Sam Whiteman, David Willey (England)

Sydney Sixers

The Sydney Sixers are perceived as the bigger club in Sydney, generally carrying a host of Australian international stars. It sometimes means they struggle for depth, but the club have made four finals for one victory, including going down in the final to the Perth Scorchers last year.

Their 2017/18 squad still has plenty of spots to fill.

Sydney Sixers squad
Sean Abbott, Sam Billings (England), Jackson Bird, Johan Botha, Ben Dwarshuis, Mickey Edwards, Jack Edwards (rookie), Moises Henriques, Daniel Hughes, Nathan Lyon, Nic Maddinson, Peter Nevill, Steve O’Keefe, Jason Roy (England), Jordan Silk, Mitchell Starc, Henry Thornton.

Sydney Thunder

After winning three wooden spoons in a row during the first three editions of the Big Bash, the Sydney Thunder climbed their way off the bottom of the table in the fourth edition. That was before they turned things around in 2015-16, giving their long-suffering supporters something to cheer about by making the semi-finals. They then went on to cause a pair of upsets and win the tournament.

The men in lime green slumped back to claim a fourth wooden spoon last year though.

They lost Andre Russell for this season due to a rules violation, but did manage to bring in Mitchell McClenaghan.

Sydney Thunder squad
Fawad Ahmed, Aiden Blizzard, Jos Buttler (England), Pat Cummins, Andrew Fekete, Callum Ferguson, Ryan Gibson, Chris Green, Liam Hatcher (rookie), Usman Khawaja, Jay Lenton, Mitchell McClenaghan (New Zealand), Clint McKay, Arjun Nair, Kurtis Patterson, Ben Rohrer, Gurinder Sandhu, Shane Watson.

How to Book a OLA or UBER Cab Without the Application

When you need to take a cab, you probably pull your phone out and start the OLA or UBER app (depending on which one you prefer), and make your booking. But if you're sitting in front of your PC in the office, you don't actually need to take the extra step, and can book your cab without pulling out your phone.
It's actually easy to book a cab from your computer using just the web browser, and Ola officially supports desktop bookings while for Uber, you need to make use of one simple trick to make it work for you. Here's what you need to know, along with a few other useful tricks that make using Uber from your PC a breeze.

How to book Uber without phone app

Booking an Uber without a phone is equally simple, but there is one extra step you need to know, because the Uber website on desktop doesn't let you book a cab. Instead, you have to use the mobile website. Here's how it works.

(1) On your PC, open the browser and go to m.uber.com
(2) On the next screen, you're prompted for your phone number, and then your password.
(3) Next, you'll receive an OTP on your phone, and once you enter that, you go to the booking page. This was a one-time affair and the next time you need to book a cab, you won't need to sign in again.
(4) Once you've signed in, there will be a prompt to use location services. You can enable this or disable it, and then you're taken to the booking screen.
(5) Here, enter your pickup and drop location.
(6) You'll see the trip in the map below, along with the various cab options, the fare estimates, and the time to pickup. The payment method will be listed below that, and then the request button.
(7) Click on request and Uber books the cab, and you're good to go.

Uber app for Windows

Apart from these little workarounds, there's an even simpler way to book an Uber if you're using a Windows PC. There is an official Uber app, the works on Windows 10 devices. It uses your location and can be used to book a car.

The experience of using the app is pretty much the same as described above though, so it might be quicker to just use the browser based version. However, if you want to use the app and have a Windows 8 laptop or tablet, you can download Uber from the Microsoft Store for free

Ola also has a Windows 10 application, but it's only compatible with Windows 10 Mobile, and so won't work on your laptop or desktop computer.

Uber app for Mac

There's no Uber app for Mac users, but there is an app called Fastlane you can use to book an Uber from your Apple PC. Like the official app, Fastlane is also free, and sits in the menu bar of your computer so it's just one button click away.

Once you click on it, you need to type in your pickup and drop locations, and then the request button. It's fast and effective, but once again, doesn't really seem particularly superior to just using the mobile website, and by doing that you won't be relying on a third-party application. Still, if you believe the extra convenience is worth it, you can download Fastlane free from its website.

Uber with Office 365

Uber also collaborated with Microsoft to launch an integration with Office 365. If you're an Office 365 subscriber, Uber uses the Outlook APIs, and you can use the calendar there to set up cab rides. You can set an Uber ride reminder for meetings on your calendar, and you'll get a pop-up when it's time to go. You can then swipe to confirm the ride, and the car will be on its way.

How to book Ola without phone app

Booking an Ola without a phone is simple, just follow these steps:
(1) On your PC, open the browser and go to www.olacabs.com
(2) In the box on the left, enter your pickup and drop locations, and when you want the cab.
(3) Click on Search Cabs.

You'll get a list of cars, showing prices and time to pickup, so you can choose whatever suits you best. The booking will show Cash as the payment option - click on it to sign in with the following steps:

(1) Enter your phone number in the prompt.
(2) You'll receive an OTP on your phone which you enter here.
This seems to be a one time process which was not repeated for us, so the second time you try and book a cab you likely won't have to sign in again.

One word of caution - the cancel booking function (while trying to make the booking) on the PC browser doesn't seem to work, and we accidentally booked three cabs at the same time, and then had to cancel them one by one using the app on our phone.

Know about Bitcoin

                           Image result for bitcoin information

what is bitcoin ?

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and worldwide payment system. It is the first decentralized digital currency, as the system works without a central bank or single administrator. The network is peer-to-peer and transactions take place between users directly through the use of cryptography, without an intermediary. These transactions are verified by network nodes and recorded in a public distributed ledger called a blockchain. Bitcoin was invented by an unknown person or group of people under the name Satoshi Nakamoto and released as open-source software in 2009

What makes it different from normal currencies ?

Bitcoin can be used to buy things electronically. In that sense, it’s like conventional dollars, euros, or yen, which are also traded digitally.

However, bitcoin’s most important characteristic, and the thing that makes it different to conventional money, is that it is decentralized. No single institution controls the bitcoin network. This puts some people at ease, because it means that a large bank can’t control their money.

What is bitcoin based on ?

Conventional currency has been based on gold or silver. Theoretically, you knew that if you handed over a dollar at the bank, you could get some gold back (although this didn’t actually work in practice). But bitcoin isn’t based on gold; it’s based on mathematics.

Around the world, people are using software programs that follow a mathematical formula to produce bitcoins. The mathematical formula is freely available, so that anyone can check it.

The software is also open source, meaning that anyone can look at it to make sure that it does what it is supposed to.

How to buy & sell Bitcoin ?

1. Sign up for Coinbase

This first step is to sign up for a Coinbase account. This will give you a secure place to store your bitcoin, and easy payment methods to convert your local currency into or out of bitcoin.

2. Connect Your Bank Account

After you sign up, connect your bank account. You'll need to complete some verification steps before you can use the account. Once the verification steps are complete, you can start a purchase.

3. Buy and Sell Bitcoin

After starting your first purchase, we'll complete your buy and deliver your bitcoin. (Sells work the same way but in reverse). The price of bitcoin changes over time, so we'll show you the current exchange rate before you buy.

Is Bitcoin legal ?

Bitcoin has proven to be a contentious issue for regulators and law enforcers, both of which have targeted the digital currency in an attempt to control its use. We are still early on in the game, and many legal authorities are still struggling to understand the cryptocurrency, let alone make laws around it. Amid all this uncertainty, one question stands out: is bitcoin legal ?

The answer is yes, depending on what you’re doing with it.
